The quick and dirty list of salsa music

This is a compact list of salsa artists I like to dance to and/or to listen to. Unfortunately, you’ll have a hard time to find much of this in any of our local music stores, try the web. Compilations you find locally are … not generally recommended. Note that a nice salsa song might be great to listen to but may not work well on the dance floor. For a more in-depth discussion, please read Michaels Salsa Music Survival Guide. Hopefully more members of Östgöta salsa will contribute as time pass by.

If you have a broadband internet connection you could try out Shoutcast, sort the list by bitrate (click on bitrate), go for the high ones. These are free internet broadcasts and sometimes really good salsa and with a stream ripper tool you can put it on your phone, iPod or any MP3 player.

If you go to the US, visit a large music store (Virgin Mega Store and the like), they often have a fairly good latin/salsa section.

Hope this list was to any use for you.
